A Bilingual Preschool Experience
Fundraising
Why is fundraising important to All ‘Bout Children?
All ‘Bout Children is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on donations in order to enhance the educational experience provided to its students. While tuition rates are set to offset the basic costs of operating ABC, fundraising activities enable us to provide experiences that make ABC unique. There is no requirement that families participate in fundraising activities, but any contribution can help create the best possible experience for our students!
Can United Way contributions be directed toward ABC?
Yes! United Way campaigns will be underway at many companies in the coming weeks. Please note that United Way contributions can be directed toward All ‘Bout Children Preschool!
What about an employer match?
As a 501(c)(3) organization providing educational services, All ‘Bout Children is often eligible for employer matching programs. Due to its small size, ABC may not necessarily appear in drop-down listings for employer match programs. However, you may be able to manually add ABC to the listing of eligible organizations. When setting up All ‘Bout Children as an eligible organization, please use Tax ID #27-4193753.
How can families contribute?
We have many different ways throughout the year for families to donate, including (but not limited to) fall catalog fundraiser, rings around the classroom, Scholastic orders and book fairs, local restaurant match nights, IGive.com, United Way and monetary donations (with employer matches).
Where are fundraising proceeds used?
Money raised through fundraising initiatives go directly back to the children. We typically purchase new classroom materials, educational toys, equipment for outdoor classrooms, art supplies, and books.
What is a 501(c)(3)?
A 501(c)(3) is a non-profit organization that has applied for and received recognition of tax exemption by the IRS. In order to qualify, it must satisfy the IRS’s definition of being organized for charitable purposes, which includes educational purposes. In order to be tax-exempt under 501(c)(3), none of ABC’s earnings can go to any individual.
The primary advantages of being a 501(c)(3) nonprofit is that the organization will not pay taxes on the profits of its activities. Additionally, this status may result in easier access to public and private grants, which often require 501(c)(3) status. Finally, the organization can solicit tax-deductible contributions. People and organizations are encouraged to donate to charitable organizations, because tax law allows the donors to deduct their contributions from taxable income.
